Upcoming Litters
Crowned Ibizans occasionally has planned litters and available puppies. We breed for good health, temperament, structure, and drive. All parents of planned litters are health tested and are proven in the show ring and/or field. I spend extensive time researching pedigrees and talking to experts to learn more about the lines and dogs in the breed. When I choose to breed, my litters will be a product of hours upon days upon weeks upon months of studying and carefully planning decisions based on what will hopefully be most beneficial and successful for good health, mental, and physical qualities in the breed. If you would like to learn more about upcoming litters and the availability of puppies, please send me an email or give me a call.

The BUG Puppies
Pickle x Idina
Come Springtime (or whenever she comes into season next year), Idina will be bred to Pickle. We are hopeful that these two will produce well tempered, healthy, typey, true to standard puppies. We expect puppies to be extremely strong gorgeous, flowing movement with beautiful outlines and style. The pedigree will combine classic American wire lines with gorgeous wire Spanish blood. Both parents are FF wires, expecting very fuzzy babies with great wire coats. With Idina being a BIF winning dual champion and Pickle having Open Field coursing experience, coursing drive and ability should also be strong. These are two history making dogs, hoping to make even more history with these babies.
How to find the right puppy
Finding the "right" puppy for your home is crucial for a happy life for your pet and your family. You should assess your wants and needs in a dog before contacting breeders. Compare these wants with the description of breed desired and see if they check the boxes. Though some breeds are gorgeous, including Ibizans, looks won't help if the personality of the dog totally clashes with your expectations.
If you decide an Ibizan is an ideal fit for your home, then it is time to start contacting breeders! This is a rare breed, puppies may not be readily available at anytime, and many breeders have waitlists. You may be waiting a few months, maybe even years, for the right puppy. I promise, the wait is worth it!
It's important to make sure, if you choose to buy a puppy from a breeder, that you seek a reputable, ethical, preservation breeder. What makes a breeder responsible? Responsible breeders aim to produce dogs to help preserve and further their beloved breed. They are not breeding for a pretty penny, we breed to keep our breeds alive and to contribute to the future of these wonderful animals. Some ways to evaluate if a breeder is responsible is noting if they prove their dogs are worthy breeding stock by titling them in conformation and or hunting/performance events, preform the needed health tests in respect to their national breed club's recommendation, only breed dogs that are sound in mind, breed with standard and function in mind, and will only breed if they see the pairing as a benefit to the breed as a whole. Responsible breeders will ALWAYS have a life-time guarantee of taking their dogs back if you need to re-home them, no matter the reason or situation. Some red flags of bad breeders would be no health testing, no titles on their dogs, claiming their dogs are from "champion" lines yet have no way to prove it, breeding dogs that are younger than 2 yrs old, deny health issues in the breed, and so on.
Health in the Ibizan is relatively good. Ibizans are a pretty hearty breed! Recommended tests (CHIC) for breeding dogs should be hips, eyes, ears, and thyroid. Some other things to note in different pedigrees of Ibizans is the possibility of cataracts, seizures, allergies, bloat, heart issues, and GI issues. Make sure you talk to your breeder and ask about the possible issues that they know of in their lines. Again, as a whole, Ibizan Hounds are a generally healthy breed, but in my opinion, you can never be too careful when it comes to health!
